What kind of commitment is expected or needed?

Needs vary greatly.  We envision this as a conversation between two people to share ideas, needs, expertise and support (which doesn’t need to be financial) Do what you can.  Remember,  Ukrainian museums have needs, but they also have significant skills, expertise, and approaches to their work.  Everyone, please treat each other with respect and kindness.  You may make a short-term commitment or also consider working together for longer. But no matter what, it all begins with a conversation.

We would like to support a staff position. What is the average museum worker’s salary in Ukraine?

According to Ukrainian colleagues, the average staff salary is $800 USD per month.

If I want to provide financial support, how do I transfer funds?

Your Ukrainian partner can provide specific information, but funds transfers rely on trust. Funds may be transferred to an individual rather than a museum, because most museums are governmental museums and it is not currently possible to transfer funds. Paypal or wire transfers both work.
